When I was in NYC for my spring break I took a walking/food tasting tour. It was lots of fun! The one thing they told us was that the difference between broadway, off broadway, and off off broadway was the number of seats in the theater. I believe broadway has 500 to 1000(?) seats, off broadway has 100 to 499 seats, and off off broadway has under 99 seats. I would check the numbers because I'm in the right range but not sure about the exact numbers. This means that off off broadway, off broadway, and broadway shows have nothing to do with where the theater is located. Not all broadway theaters are on broadway street and not all theaters on broadway street are broadway theaters. I just thought that would be a fun fact for you to put up that not many people would know about. As our tour guide was saying the info I thought of you and your blog. And again, I would check on those facts and numbers for exact anwsers

Liv C-
alright I think that there is such a thing as a Broadway committee where people pitch ideas from an old movie (The Lion King) or a brand new idea (13. the show about teenagers) to become a broadway show. They pitch the idea of how they are going to do the show, as in the set and the comstumes and what they are looking for in the actors. Then people on the committee vote or decide on what idea they are going to go with. Its basically like a sales pitch but in my oppinon, way more fun. I'm pretty positive thats how htey do it. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

As we all know a beloved actress has died in this past week. her name was Natasha Richardson. Most of you know her as the "good" mother in the Parent Trap in 1998. But she did so much more. And she did many more Broadway shows then movies. She loved the stage more than the set and she and she liked to be in a live performance instead of a cut one. On Thursday night, March 19 2009, before the Broadway stage opened up for their show they dimmed the lights for her and expressed dearest sympathy for the family. It is a tragedy but all we can do is honor her memory and remember her in the highest respect. Natasha Richardson.
Kris-
the newest broadway shows are Marry Poppins, The Lion King and the Little Mermaid. But, you can see tons of other Broadway shows right here in your home town. The show itself doesn't have to be on broadway for you to see a broadway show. it is a Broadway show once it is preformed on Broadway. From then on it is known as a Broadway Show

The Phantom of the Opera is Now Inside Your Mind
The Phantom of the Opera, for those of you that don't know (Olivia), is about a girl who is in the chours of a haunted Opera. Everyone there believes in the "myth" of the Phantom. However in comes some new directors for the Opera House and they don't believe in him one bit. This "Phantom" always requests a certian box seat to watch the plays that go on and he casts every show they have. If people don't follow his orders he will cause great havoc. This is a mystifiying show and (if you are atracted to men) you will either fall in love with Raquel or the Phantom. I myself fell in love with the Phantom. The show is very long and very compilcated but you have to watch it as soon as you can. You can watch it on YouTube if you type in "The Phantom of the Opera Full Version" it is in parts and thats how I watched it for free! Also make sure it is the newer version...its better.

A chours Line is a must see!
A Chours Line is a Broadway Musical about what to takes to even get into the chours on any Broadway show. This show takes you through the gruling process of auditions and how nerve racking it is. You can't mess up because once you do its over and you have to be passionit and real want what you came for. If not your out. A job as a dancer isn't easy to live by. You get rejected so many times because there is always someone better. This play is filled with laughs and sad stories and if you get the chance see it. You won't waste the money you paid to see it.
